Further along the Denali Highway

The Denali and the Richardson both follow the Trans-Alaska pipeline... which is strangely beautiful.

Oil in the pipeline is at 140 degrees, which would melt the tundra if not for these cool-looking radiators.

We didn't climb the pipeline. We did limbo under it, though.

Late at night, we found ourselves in Copper Creek at a 100-year old roadhouse. We chose it because it had a private bathroom. Turned out to be 10 yards down the hall. Guess Alaskans haven't heard of "en suite".

Our last day, we took a long hike in Valdez, near the lovely bridal veil falls. We got soaked, almost ran into a bear and had a wonderful time.
